New Worship Service Beginning Sunday, January 8th
We will be starting a second worship service beginning January 8th. This service will begin at 1:00PM and last about 45 minutes. The music will be contemporary. The message will follow the worship music and we will end with a time of self examination, meditation and prayer. Communion will be available for those who wish to take it during this time. There will not be child care available, however you are welcome to have your children with you during the service. We will strive to make it available in the future if it is needed. If you do not have a church home, and you are looking for something a little different, and a little later in the day, come and check us out. Men's Breakfast
Beginning in January we will be having a monthly men's breakfast on the first Saturday of each month. January's breakfast will be held at Cedar's Restaurant on West Bypass. We will gather at 6:45AM for breakfast and a brief devotion. January's devotion will address the differences in the way men and women communicate. The goal is to be finished and ready to leave before the 8AM rush. We want to invite members, their guests, and any men who would enjoy this time of fellowship to join us!
Volunteer work with Council of Churches
Beginning in 2012 Gateway will be sending volunteers to the Crosslines Food Bank on the months that have 5 Tuesdays in them. We will be helping people with their shopping in the food bank and carrying groceries out to the cars. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Michelle Heslep. It only happens once a quarter and the first time we will help is on January 31st.
Pastor's Coffee
On the first and third Tuesday of each month, 15 - 20 members gather at the church to enjoy a time of fellowship around a cup of coffee. Although there is no specific study or agenda, it is often a time where future activities are discussed, prayer needs are mentioned and people catch up on what is going on in the lives of the members of the church. This is a great place for new people to really get to know members of the church. Hope to see you next time!
Monthly Potluck
The third Sunday of each month members of Gateway Christian Church stick around after services and share in a potluck meal with one another. Of course, we encourage visitors to join us and share in our meal and a time of fellowship. Each month we have a different theme for our meal. In November we will be having a traditional Thanksgiving Feast. We usually get started eating by 11:30 and finish by 12:30 so plan to join us at our next potluck.
Fellowship Night's
The second Thursday of each month has been designated as "Fellowship Night" at Gateway Christian Church. Come and bring your family at 6:00PM for free food and drinks. There will be games, a movie, cartoons or some other fun activity to enjoy along with a great time of fellowship for all. For more information, please contact the church office.
Weekly Bible Studies
Gateway has weekly Bible Studies on Wednesdays at 11:00AM and 6:00PM. The same material is covered in each study so if you miss the morning session, you can catch up in the evening session. Currently we are studying through the Gospel of John. For more information, contact Pastor Nichols, or just come to one of the studies.
